Aims and Objectives
- To promote good Social Work Practice and celebrate the academic, career and practice achievements of the members.
- Exchange skills, knowledge and experience with other colleagues and partner agencies.
- To become mentors and peers among the Forum.
- To provide advice, guidance and support to Community members where appropriate, using our expertise and skills whilst adhering to the code of conduct of Social Workers.
- To establish and maintain a Resource Team consisting of Social Workers specialising in key practice areas such as Children & Families, Mental Health, Adults Services, Learning Disability etc.
- To offer and develop career enhancement opportunities for Malayali Social Workers in the UK and abroad.
- To organise and conduct annual cultural events & Community Development programmes for the Forum members and their families.
- To act as a Professional body providing expert advice and consultation to Social Work Training Colleges, Universities, Institutions and other agencies.
- To function as a campaign and lobbying group towards recognising Social Work as an approved and regulated profession in India with a statutory regulatory body.
- To undertake academic activities, social research and influence policy development through professional partnerships and campaigns.
- To promote and facilitate evidence based practice within the Forum members through continued professional development.
